After an Incredible Comeback, Topi Returns to the Scene of Last Year’s Crash
This week Bluebeam® Rallycross driver and Global Rallycross (GRC) points leaderToomas “Topi” Heikkinen is heading to X Games Los Angeles with redemption in mind. As a rookie at last year's Summer X Games in LA, Heikkinen was involved in a serious crash that left him on the sidelines for three months. This year, Topi has made an amazing comeback. Not only is he the only driver to have made it to the podium in every event this season , he is also the first Global Rallycross (GRC) driver to win three consecutive races and the youngest driver ever to win X Games Gold. This Sunday, Topi will race his Olsbergs MSE Ford Fiesta ST in the final X Games event of the season, with 18 opponents vying to dethrone him at the Irwindale Speedway.
“X Games Los Angeles will be my biggest challenge yet,” said Heikkinen. “After everything that has happened this year, I’m ready to hit the track and show the world that I can win in LA.”
“With an incredible string of victories and record-breaking accomplishments, Topi is proving there are no limits to what he can do,” said Richard Lee, Bluebeam Software President and CEO. “When it comes to Bluebeam Rallycross, anything is possible when Topi is behind the wheel.”
GRC Round 6: X Games in Los Angeles is taking place August 4th at 5:00 PM EDT and will be broadcast on ESPN. For more information about Topi’s performance and for continued updates on the 2013 GRC season, go to www.bluebeamrally.com or follow Topi on Facebook or Twitter.
